In the 90’s, it was popular in the US to paint text and phrases on walls.  It was surprising and intriguing to me, the frequency I viewed the technique in historical Chinese interiors, architecture and art.  I took both photographs inside the Forbidden City, Beijing.

Today I had the privilege to view artist Tetsunori Kawana (white cap) and volunteers, installing the artist’s bamboo site specific art installation “Kizuna”, which opens to the public on May 5th.  Look forward to seeing it completed and the many changes it will go thru as it ages (up till November)

The East End of Long Island is a very special place for me.  I have fond memories and I just love being here…spectacular beaches, interesting little towns, galleries and wonderful food. This is going to sound strange but It looks  different  here too.   I have heard other artist say the East End…

love this table.. a mix of reality and fantasy.. Alice in wonderland meets King James 1.  Thanks interior designer, Bunny Williams.

I hear stories about homeowners spending years picking cabinetry, appliances, plumbing… but only minutes on cabinet hardware.  That’s a shame, cabinet hardware is the jewelry or accessories of a space – the important component that pulls it all together.  Here I used: Rocky Mountain Hardware’s: Brut catch drawer pull, Brut Pendant and Brut knob.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! The Pantone colors of the year are Rose Quartz and Serenity (typically there is only one color). I am puzzled by this choice.  I was convinced it was going to be a shade of green?   Perhaps 2017’s color of the year will be a green.  I feel like green is coming…
