A great use of a space…

  Pantone is a world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems.  A system that is used for identifying, matching and communicating colors throughout the graphic design, architecture,  fashion, home furnishing industries.  They are a big player. Pantone’s color of 2015 is Marsala which happens to be one of my favorite colors.

In the 90’s, it was popular in the US to paint text and phrases on walls.  It was surprising and intriguing to me, the frequency I viewed the technique in historical Chinese interiors,architecture and art.  I took both photographs inside the Forbidden City, Beijing.

I was talking with a client today about blackboard paint for her home office in Denver.  The conversation made me think about a fun project I did.  Pictured here is the entrance of a private art studio/foundation office.  I had the staircase wall painted with blackboard paint. The owner wrote inspiring sayings on the wall….
