There are many tables like this but rarely with such spectacular granite..

In the 1940’s, the hotel’s 9th floor (penthouse) was converted to several high end apartments. Below the authentic concept drawing from that remodel. It was exciting for me, to view the drawing in the actual space today.  Shocked to discover the furnishings from 70 years ago were more contemporary.

At that moment, I knew to lean against my tendency to go dreamy when stumbling upon something spectacular…

Today I had the privilege to view artist Tetsunori Kawana (white cap) and volunteers, installing the artist’s bamboo site specific art installation “Kizuna”, which opens to the public on May 5th.  Look forward to seeing it completed and the many changes it will go thru as it ages (up till November)

icy cool to luscious warm within a single entity; a rarity in interior design.

love this table.. a mix of reality and fantasy.. Alice in wonderland meets King James 1.  Thanks interior designer, Bunny Williams.  

If this scene were to inspire a color palette, it would not necessarily include purple.  Instead, it may inspire a vast range of green playing wonderfully together, as reflected here.
